Class Descriptions
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) Classes
Children's Classes
The younger children's class is designed for children 5-7 years old. The class focuses on basic Jiu Jitsu techniques that teach restraint and escape. Structured games designed to develop and refine motor skills, allow children to practice evasion skills. Children and parents can expect improvement in teamwork and skill building. This class does not teach submissions.
The older children's class is designed for children 7-13 years old. The class aims to further develop basic Jiu Jitsu techniques covered in the younger children's class. Students in this class also participate in structured games allowing them to practice skills against resisting opponents. The class features more opportunities for rolling and introduces basic submission techniques.
Both children’s classes are gi classes. Students can work to earn stripes and belts as they progress.
Adult Classes
BJJ’s Fundamental Classes
This class is recommended for students just beginning Jiu Jitsu or students looking to improve and refine their basic Jiu Jitsu skills. This class focuses on taking an in-depth look at basic Jiu Jitsu positions and breaking down technique and movements. Classes will follow a monthly theme and students will participate in an intense technique study.
This class is a gi class. Students can work to earn stripes and belts as they progress.
BJJ Classes
This class is an extension of the basic building blocks learned in BJJ Fundamentals. Students will further their knowledge in the intricacies of BJJ. This class is open to students of all levels, although beginner students are recommended to make as many BJJ Fundamental classes as possible.
This class is a gi class. Students can work to earn stripes and belts as they progress
No-gi Classes
This class teaches Jiu Jitsu without the gi. Students will become acclimated to the fast-paced world of submission grappling. The class focuses on the difference in grips and movements needed to be successful in training without the gi. This class is open to students of all levels.
Self-Defense Classes
Self-defense is the core of BJJ and the reason for its original creation. This class focuses on non-sport techniques used to protect yourself in case of an attack. Learn to take control in real life confrontation scenarios.
Students can work to earn stripes and belts in this class.
Striking Classes
This class will focus on stand-up striking techniques designed to incapacitate your opponent before the fight goes to the ground. Techniques include a mix of Muay Thai, Kenpo, Tang-Soo-Do, and Western Boxing movements formulated to develop a well rounded striking regimen.
Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Classes
If you wish to compete in mixed martial arts or are just a fan, this class is for you. Learn the techniques of the fastest growing sport in America. Classes are built for beginners and up, with a strong emphasis on safety. Learn to kick butt under the guidance of trained instructors who have all participated and have winning records in mixed martial arts competition.
Sparring will require students to purchase certain protective gear and will be permitted only when the instructors feel each individual is ready.
